Greetings Safari Trekkers
Rallies – Rallies! These are the lifeblood of our organization. The
rallies are internally generated by anyone in the club who has an idea or
location they feel is of interest. This could be anything from a wine tour
or a remote location for a weekend. The result is a gathering of
adventurous NW Trekkies, where we get to meet good friends from the past
and new ones we didn’t have a chance to connect with before. There are
potlucks, tours, games, happy hours, restaurant discoveries, biking,
hiking, technical support, and….well you get the idea. Camaraderie is the
order of the day. The shorter length of our coaches gets us into areas not
enjoyed by others. Rallies are good times and FUN. So give some thought to
specific ideas and locations you would like to see.
There are other opportunities that allow us to gather as a group, with
friendship and support in abundance, at the FMCA and Safari International
events. NWTFC has been recognized as a “team” supporter by contributing
our services as rally volunteers. There is often a Safari Trek caravan to
these events, where parking for Treks is consolidated into an enclave for
members fun and enjoyment. As well, there are the other affiliated Trek
Fun Clubs in the South, East, and West (California) coast, that have
rallies you may be able to attend if space is available. |
This web site is a gold mine of information and some new and helpful
features have been added. Just browse around for information and write ups
of past, present, and future rallies. There is a page to help in your
travels with links to various bits of on the road information, such as gas
prices, dump stations, wi fi hotspots, etc, to help you when underway any
where across the country. There is a forum/message board facilitating
discussions between members and as a means of communication with your
executive board to record your thoughts and comments. You can even arrange
to join NWTFC on line. I know everyone will find some benefits in using
the web site. We are hoping you will make liberal use of it look forward
to your input.
Try to take advantage of any opportunity to join in on the activities. You
will be glad you did. And come by and say hello – I would love to meet you
and hear your ideas.
Safe Trekking
